How does Travelling to Turkey compare to other countries?

The news for travelling to Turkey has been so far very positive in the battle against Coronavirus. Turkey is now seeing the rewards of its’ strict lockdown policy.

In the middle of April this year ‘The Daily Sabah Newspaper’ reported: Turkey ranks 7th worldwide with 600,000 coronavirus tests https://www.dailysabah.com/turkey/turkey-ranks-7th-worldwide-with-600000-coronavirus-tests/news

Here is a link to a BBC report at the end of May, Coronavirus: How Turkey took control of Covid-19 emergency https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-52831017 in the report, Dr Jeremy Rossman, Lecturer in Virology at the University of Kent, is quoted “Turkey fits in the category of several countries that responded fairly quickly with testing, tracing, isolation and movement restrictions,” he told the BBC. “It’s a fairly small club of countries that have been quite effective in reducing the viral spread.”

Now we are at the end of July lets see how Turkey compares with other countries: Turkey has been able to sustain a low mortality rate versus the positive tests. This is borne out by the ‘Euronews’ website which reports the latest news to date 27th July 2020. https://www.euronews.com/2020/07/27/covid-19-coronavirus-breakdown-of-deaths-and-infections-worldwide

‘The Independent Newspaper’ reports in July useful information for tourists visiting Turkey: https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/turkey-holidays-antalya-bodrum-dalaman-istanbul-beach-flights-summer-quarantine-a9597736.html

In the report it explains; ‘Turkey reopened its international borders on 12 June, including to British nationals. You will have to complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to arrival.’
