Fethiye is a busy working town that is open all year. You’ll find all the things you expect to see in a town – banks, mobile phone shops, supermarkets, DIY shops. Everything you need for day to day living.
But Fethiye is more than just a town. Fethiye is situated on the stunning Mediterranean coast and benefits from hot summers and pleasantly warm days in the winter, although you will most certainly need a coat once the sun goes down. Throw in a bit of rain to keep the countryside looking lush and it has the perfect climate.
You can very easily spend a few days here simply taking in the local scenery. If you wish to stretch your legs there is a long, flat walkway that takes you from Fethiye harbour to the beach resort of Çalış past boats, fishermen and restaurants.
There is a huge choice of restaurants both in Fethiye town centre and along the promenade so you can easily stop for a bite to eat or a drink to quench your thirst during your explorations.
You will also find yourself wandering through a more recent addition to the area. The stunning Şehit Fethi Bey Parkı has play areas for children, places to rest and incredible sculptures.
If history is more your thing, you’ll see tombs in the middle of busy intersections and towering over the town from the mountain sides.
There is also a small local and free museum housing many artifacts found in the area.
