Lycian way Holidays

Today we are going to update you with what we are doing on The Lycian Way. We hope to share some positives to come out of our Coronavirus lockdown. We also wanted to share some of our favourite pictures. Guests and views from The Lycian Way route.

The past weeks have given us the opportunity to work on our guesthouse Meyveli Ev https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g298031-d9738284-Reviews-Meyveli_Ev_Pension-Fethiye_Mugla_Province_Turkish_Aegean_Coast.html We have been laying gravel at the back of the property. Fighting weeds is an ongoing battle and one of the best ways to deal with this is to gravel over paths. Last week we planted pepper and cucumber in our raised beds. Growing vegetables is always hit and miss with us, but like most things, the more you do in the garden, the more you learn. Turkish breakfasts are a highlight of our day and usually include fresh peppers, cucumber, tomatoes and olives.

Talking of olives, we have been busy pruning our olives trees. We have a dozen or so young trees that we hope will give us enough olives to press our own olive oil in the coming years. At the moment we also have two mulberry (‘Dut’ in Turkish) trees which are providing us (and all the sparrows nesting in our roof) with lots mulberries. We will post some more pics in the coming weeks.

Here are a few of our favourite pictures from The Lycian Way. They are in no particular order. We will post more in our next blog. We hope to get back out hiking on The Lycian Way route soon. Until then, stay safe, obey the rules and we will all get through this as quickly as possible. If anyone would like to share their comments and pictures then please send them to our email address [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you.
