Unlike many beaches in Türkiye, Patara remains relatively untouched by commercialism.
The end near the car park can be busy in the summer months. However, walk towards the middle and you will be more likely to be knocked down by tumbling bushes than by people.
It is the perfect place to visit all year round.
In the summer when the weather is hot, the constant breeze offers a refreshing break from the heat whilst the water remains cool.
In the winter you can still get perfect swimming weather along with the feeling of being alone in paradise.
But be careful if you do go for a swim as, although the water is shallow, the waves can be quite big.
Taking a Hike
If you enjoy hiking you can hike part of the Lycian Way from the the small town of Gelemiş. In doing so, you will get spectacular views of the beach as well as the ruins of the magnificent ancient city of Patara. You can find out more information about the ruins in one of our previous blogs, just click here.
